There are so many desserts that we see in the supermarket like Asda’s chocolate sponge cake for a pound! Although, some places around the world sell the more exotic and much more expensive treats.

Like one of the world’s most expensive desserts The Frozen Haute Chocolate ice blog pic1cream sundae’ costing $25,000 (£12,000), which is available to eat at the Serendipity 3 restaurant in New York, USA. It was added onto the menu on 7 November 2007.

 

The dessert is decorated with 5 g of edible 23-karat gold and is served in a goblet lined with edible gold. blog pic 2The base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The dessert is also served with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-coloured diamonds, which can be taken home!

 

Celebrities such as Jay z, Beyonce and Gordon Ramsay have been to the Serendipity 3 restaurant, even Marilyn Monroe! Even though this pricey dessert is on the menu, there are also other sweets and food at reasonable prices that they have available to offer to their customers.

Noka

A very simple dessert from the Vintage Collection is the Noka Chocolate which is an expensive $854 per pound. The chocolate is known for being so delicious and one of the blog pic3finest made in the world. Noka uses all different types of cocoa from places such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Cote d’Ivoire, and Trinidad. The chocolates are all of the dark variety, each of them made with at least 75% cocoa. Each box is packaged in the classic Noka design.

 

 

The Sultan’s Golden Cake

If you’ve ever wanted to try an edible brick of gold, this dessert is definitely for you! You blog pic4are able to find it at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel  in Istanbul, for $1,000. The cake is made of figs, pears, apricot, and quince that are then put into a Jamaican Rum and soaked for two years. To finish, the cake is topped with French Polynesia vanilla bean, caramel, black truffles, and a 24 carat gold leaf. It is said that the cake takes about 72-hours to make. Once it is ready to be served, it is placed inside a sterling silver cake box with a golden seal.
